Silver Star Ski Trip

Weekend of December 3rd. Registration OPEN!

This is our largest and most popular annual trip, this is the don’t-miss event of the season, it sells out quickly every year.

The trip offers:

  • Deluxe on-mountain chalet accommodations shared with other Nordic Racer members
  • Saturday night dinner and social
  • Optional lessons with world-class coaches and instructors
  • Optional massage therapy from a registered RMT or student

Silver Star is known across North America for some of the best early season conditions on the planet. The mountain gets 700 cm of dry, cold, crisp, exquisitely crystalline snow annually (some years, your wax kit comprises one tube — extra blue). With all that snow, they maintain 60 km of gorgeous trails, for every level of skier. There’s even lift access to the peak that links to another 40 km of trails at Sovereign Lake.

The fine print. If accommodation is sold out, contact Teri to be put on a waitlist. We encourage carpooling, but please familiarize yourself with our carpool policy at the bottom of this page. Sorry, pets are not allowed. Members are responsible for their own trail tickets and equipment. Registration closes midnight November 24th.

You must be a current member of the Nordic Racers to participate.

Nordic Racers welcomes all skiers of all ages and abilities. To find out more about membership, click here.

Silver Star Trip and Lessons

Accommodations & Saturday
Night Dinner & Social

Accommodations are provided Friday December 2nd and Saturday December 3rd with an option to stay up to two additional nights Thursday December 1st and new this year Wednesday November 30th. Included in your accommodation fee is one admission to our awesome dinner and social on Saturday evening. If you have booked your own accommodations but you or a friend want to join us for dinner please purchase a separate dinner ticket below.

The housing prices for the trip are pre-season, group-discounted rates and reflect the direct cost to the club. In other words, the club makes no profit on housing.

Continuing this year for singles — we are leaving empty beds in the singles rooms to make the accommodations for singles more comfortable.

Saturday December 3rd, 2016

Get expert instruction from some of the top level coaches and instructors in Canada. We welcome total beginners (who have never skied before) to experts, in both classic and skate techniques.

There’s two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon (there is no half day or one lesson option). During lunch break there’s enough time to for you to go back to your chalet and enjoy a hot lunch, switch your equipment, change your clothes and maybe indulge in a short nap.

Lesson fee does not include your trail pass or equipment.

Details regarding schedule, class lists, meeting times and place will be e-mailed to participants a few days before the trip. If you sign up for both techniques, you will notified in advance which techniques will be in the morning session and in the afternoon.

Spoil yourself with a massage (or two), relax and enjoy! Massage tables will be set up, the oil will be warm and ready, and the ambient music will playing peacefully in the background.

The club has arranged a special deal with Claudia, a registered massage therapist. She will provide 50 min massages and will issue treatment receipts so you can claim it on your health plan (if you have one).

Students currently enrolled in the Vernon RMT program will provide massages at a lower price point for those who do not have benefits (or have fully used up their annual benefit amount) and want to save money.

The rate for the RMT is $75/hr and the student will be $50/hr.

An e-mail will be sent to all registrants with room & house assignments, carpool information and lesson information about a week before the trip.
